Renault Convertible

Renault were fast to develop a hardtop convertible car as the trend gained momentum. Renault Megane Cabriolet also stood out in the market for using a glass roof rather the metal used by its competitors. The latest convertible Renault Megane keeps this key feature while improving on the dynamics of the car. The company also moved into the small convertible car market with the sporty little Renault Wind. Renault have updated their Mégane Coupé-Cabriolet with their latest brand look. The new front end styling keeps the Coupé-Cabriolet up to date with the hatchback, coupe and Sport Tourer models. The new design features a larger diamond badge set into a gloss black frame at the centre of the grill. The Renault Mégane Coupé-Cabriolet is one of the more affordable four-seat convertibles and yet has a distinctly stylish look. It features a panoramic glass folding roof.

The Renault Zoe is one of the first genuinely attractive electric vehicles that could fit into the budget of the average European, and as a result the French brand is capitalising on its popularity. Their latest step has been to quiz its Facebook fans how they would react to a Renault Zoe Cabriolet. The Renault Zoe uses a 22KWh NEC lithium-ion battery, positioned under the floor, to power a 65kW AC electric motor, driving the front wheels. It has an official range of 130 miles on the NEDC Combined cycle although this may drop considerably in cold weather or when travelling at high speeds. It makes a lot of sense as a city car where it will be efficient, clean and never far from a charging point. Acceleration is quick at low speeds and an 84 mph top speed means it will keep up with high speed traffic.
